Alleva, John A., 69, husband of Alberta (Scaletti), on Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Born in Bronx, NY, Mr. Alleva lived in Pompton Plains for 20 years. He had been employed as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at Penn Truck Lines and was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 917, the NRA, Cherry Ridge Gun Club and Cherry Ridge Pistol Team. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a son, Michael Wheelihan of Carlsbad, CA, a daughter, Penni Mirti of Pompton Plains, NJ and two grandchildren, Michelle Mirti of Pompton Plains, NJ and Brandon Wheelihan of Carlsbad, CA. Visitation Friday 4-8 PM at Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale, NJ. Final disposition private.
