| Jacquelyn Aurie
Culkin (nee Rawding), a resident of Warwick, NY for 25 years
(formerly of New Milford, NJ) passed away peacefully at home on May 1,
2011. She was 86 years old. Jacquelyn was born in Medfield, MA on November 26th,
1924 the third of seven children. After high school she attended Boston
University until the sudden death of her father compelled her to return
home to help support her much younger siblings. On May 11,1945 she married Edward Culkin of Queens,
NY. Together they raised four children and were married 65 years. She
was employed by Smith Corona Marchant, Englewood, NJ during their
marriage. A family statement reads: "Jacquelyn was a
nurturing mother, an avid gardener and nature lover. She was resilient,
resourceful and creative. A consummate sewer, she made beautiful clothes
by hand and knitted or crocheted many a blanket for her loved ones. Her
large family always came first. Jackie found great pleasure in small
things and was easily pleased. " Jacquelyn is survived by her daughters Edna Lynch and
her husband David of Hewitt, NJ and Frances Culkin of Nanticoke, PA and
a son Edward Culkin, Jr., three granddaughters Christen Davenport and
her husband Josh of Waterbury, CT, Lauren Lynch and Jennifer Culkin of
Warwick, NY, one grandson, Mathew Culkin of Warwick, NY, one great
granddaughter Abigail, twin great grandsons Noah and Nathanael and many
nieces and nephews. Jackie will be joining her husband Edward who
predeceased her in 2011 and her daughter, Jacquelyn Hayton who
predeceased her in 2010. Visitation will be held 3-7 PM Friday, May 6th at
Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford, NJ 07480.
Funeral service is at 5:30-6PM during visitation with Warwick ’s
Father Bob of St. Stephen’s Church officiating. Interment at Warwick
Cemetery, 94 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY. Saturday 11:30AM. Meeting at
Richards Funeral Home10:30AM.
