Umhoefer, Donald E., 79, husband of Mary A. (Brienza) Umhoefer, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011. Born in Paterson, NJ, he was the son of William and Jennie Frances (Sanders) Umhoefer. Mr. Umhoefer lived in Pompton Lakes, for 48 years, coming from Haskell. He served in the Navy during the Korean War, was employed as an auto mechanic for Pompton Lakes Boro, and was a member of the St. Mary’s Church, Pompton Lakes and a Volunteer Fireman for Pompton Lakes Fire Co. # 53 and an Exempt Fireman. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his sons, Donald E. (wife, Charlene), and Raymond P., daughters, Jennie Yuhas (husband, Phillip), Peggy Longo (husband, Michael) and Mary Sheridan (husband, Richard), brother, Edgar, sister, Shirley McArdler, grandchildren, Raymond Jr., and Jessica Umhoefer, Michael, Aaron, and Donald Longo, Jennie, Rachel, and Christine Yuhas, Amanda Umhoefer, and Nickolas Sheridan. He was predeceased by brothers, Raymond, William, David, and Lenny, sister, Mary Ranf. Funeral Service on Monday, 9:30 AM, from the Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale, NJ. Funeral Mass 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Pompton Lakes. Interment at Mount Rest Cemetery, Butler. Visitation Sunday, 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
