Hoebert, Adriana E. (DeJong), 92, passed away on April 5, 2021. Born in The Hague, The Netherlands to the late Johannes DeJong and Louisa (Harders) DeJong. In 1953, Adriana and her family traveled to the United States and settled in Ridgewood, NJ. The family later moved to Pompton Lakes, NJ where they raised their children. Adriana was an animal lover. She loved the shore, swimming and being outdoors, although autumn was her favorite season. Most of all, her family meant the world to her.Adriana is predeceased by her brother Louis DeJong. She leaves behind her husband Jacobus of 70 years. Also surviving, one daughter, Yolanda Klein of Pompton Lakes, one son Glen Hoebert and his wife JoAnn of Riverdale. Her cherished granddaughters, Anna Pskowski, and husband Matthew, and Carli Hoebert, and her Fiancé, Ryan Buniewski. Also surviving, two great-grandchildren Olivia Grace and Luke William and one sister Bette DeJong. A visitation will be held on Friday April 9, 2021 from 2PM-4PM at Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale, NJ 07457. Service will begin at 3:30. Disposition will be private.
Plunkett, Gerald “Jerry” Richard, age 90, passed away April 13, 2021 in Pequannock, New Jersey. Jerry was born in Garfield, New Jersey. He attended Pope Pius XII High School in Passaic, New Jersey. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1956 with a degree in Business Management. He served in the Army from 1951-1954, earning the Korean Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. He was a very active member of the Garfield J.C.’s, the VFW, the American Legion Post No. 289 in West Milford, The American Legion Jersey Boys State, The Boys Scouts, The West Milford Veteran’s Council and the Military Order of the Cooties Pup Tent #28. He was a parishioner at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Hewitt, New Jersey.Preceded in death by his parents Richard and Mary (Meny) Plunkett, his brother, Raymond Arthur Plunkett and his wife, Ann Patricia (Lynch) Plunkett. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Berta Plunkett, sister-in-law, Virginia Richards, brother-in law, Walter Richards, 1st cousins, Frances (Meny) Bindewald, Emil Meny, Warren Meny and Joan (Plunkett) Blake and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Viewing will be at Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford, New Jersey on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 2-4 PM. The Funeral mass will be offered at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1911 Union Valley Road, Hewitt, NJ on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 10 AM. Interment will be at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, 454 Germantown Road, West Milford, NJ immediately following the mass.
