Adragna, Pauline passed away peacefully on August 30, 2019 at the age of 96 in Tigard, Oregon. Pauline was born in New York City, and was raised in “Little Italy” Greenwich Village in NYC. Her parents, Cesare and Rose Iozzi, immigrated to the United States from Italy. As a teenager, Pauline had to leave high school to work in a sewing factory to help make ends meet for her family, which included two younger brothers, John and Albert, whom she loved dearly. Later she returned to night school to earn her high school diploma. She married and had a daughter, Diana. After her divorce Pauline worked two jobs, for Standard and Poor’s as a telephone operator, and for the 8th St. Playhouse movie theater as an usher. After she remarried Frank Adragna, Pauline moved to Florida where she lived for 24 years. She took pride in keeping a lovely home, cooking, and entertaining. She and her husband Frank enjoyed entertaining, traveling to historic sites in Florida, going to museums and theater performances, and visiting family. Pauline moved to Oregon in 2001 to be closer to her daughter and family. She lived independently for many years, and enjoyed movies, reading, shopping, theater, and being with her family. Her inner strength, determination, resourcefulness, perseverance, and faith guided her through hard times and good times. In her long life, Pauline did everything with care and love. Her family was most important and very dear to her. She was a thoughtful, loving person and a devout Catholic. She is survived by her daughter, Diana LoVerso and her husband, Victor Torres, grandson Antonio Torres, sister-in-law, Dede Iozzi and Jeanne Iozzi, nieces, Nicole Iozzi, Danielle Tirendi, Kathye Catalano, Jeannie Johnson, Elayne Morris and nephew Michael Iozzi. She is predeceased by her parents Cesare and Rose Ipzzi, her husband Frank Adragna and her brothers, John Iozzi and Albert Iozzi. Visiting at Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford, NJ on Saturday October 5 from 10 to 12 Noon. Followed by the committal of cremations at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
Clawson, James Orton III, (aka, Nature Jim and Ort), passed away peacefully on August 25, 2019 at the young age of 63 at home from an eight year battle with brain cancer. He was born in Charleroi, PA and grew up in Belle Vernon, PA. Jim graduated college from Ohio Northern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1978. His first position was with the Ohio Power Company in Lima, Ohio. In 1985 he moved to Hewitt, New Jersey and continued his career with Rockland Electric until his retirement in 2016. Jim touched the lives of thousands through his mountain bike riding, hiking, karaoke singing, and trail building. The woodlands and its beauty were his greatest passion along with the gift of song. No matter where Jim went, he always came away with new friends and relationships that would last a lifetime and beyond. His passion for singing allowed him to sing with several bands in the area to belt out his signature song, “Roadhouse Blues” by the Doors. As soon as he started to sing the entire crowd took notice and became immersed in his energy. As you closed your eyes you would swear you were listening to Jim Morrison. Jim was the life of the party! Preceding his death are his father, James O. Clawson Jr. and mother Jacqueline (Guseman) Clawson. Surviving are his wife, Rachel (Harlan) Clawson, sons, Shane (wife, Sarafina) of Ringwood, NJ and Stephen of Hewitt and daughter, Skylar of Hewitt, sister, Sheree Auell (husband, Bill) of Saegertown, PA and brother, Jeff Clawson (wife, Christy) of Loveland, Ohio. Crane Murga, Lauren E., 28, of Budd Lake, NJ passed away unexpectedly on August 27, 2019. Born in Pompton Plains, NJ, Lauren grew up in the Lake Shawnee section of Jefferson, NJ. Lauren is survived by her husband Marco A. Murga, her two children whom she loved dearly, LiliAna S. Murga and Joseph A. Leonard, her mother Susan E Crane, father Roger W. Crane Sr, grandfather Robert Martin, brother Roger W. Crane Jr, and sister Judith Crane. Lauren loved being outdoors, she enjoyed hiking, the ocean, swimming and playing guitar. Lauren also really loved being a Younique beauty presenter. At the request of the family all services were private.
DeLuca, Mildred of Sparta, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, August 2, 2019. A lifelong resident of New Jersey, she grew up in Montville and graduated from Boonton High School in 1947. She worked with the Prudential Insurance Company as an administrative assistant and tour guide director for a number of years. Afterward, she was employed by the State of New Jersey with the Division of Youth and Family Services. Predeceased by her is her husband Ed DeLuca to whom she was married for 39 years. Also predeceased are her parents, Joseph and Sophie Semanek of Montville. Mildred is survived by her son Eddie Deluca, daughter in law Beth and grandson Chris of North Carolina. Also her sisters Jean Semanek of Montville and Eleanor Weissenrieder of Boonton. Graveside service on Thursday, August 8 at 12 Noon at Montville Reformed Cemetery, Montville, NJ.
Dykstra, Yolanda M. (Chiarella) "Lonnie" age 74 passed away August 10, 2019. Born in Paterson to Orlando and Mary Chiarella, she lived in Totowa before moving to West Milford fifty four years ago. She worked for the West Milford Board of Education as an administrative secretary prior to her retirement. An avid painter, Lonnie was secretary and officer emeritus of the Ringwood Manor Art Association and displayed her works locally for many years. Beloved wife of James Dykstra. Loving mother of Kimberly Yarnall and grandmother of Emily, Sarah and Justin. Predeceased by her daughter Laura Ashplant in 2012. Free, Anthony James, 53 years old, a lifelong resident of West Milford finished his battle with Pancreatic cancer on August 28, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Kuhn, John Jack, age 62, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, August 13, 2019. John was born in Akron, Ohio to Patricia and Joseph Kuhn (deceased). He is survived by his mother, Patricia Morgan, brothers, Robert and Edward, sister-in law Terri, and nephews Sean and Tyler. John graduated from Passaic County Technical High School and eventually entered the family painting business with his father Joseph. John continued to manage and operate J Kuhn Painting until his death. John was an avid bowler and harness racing fan and loved the Yankees and San Francisco 49ers. He loved to play cards, pool and horseshoes and always looked forward to the spring golf outing. John had a huge heart and was always generous by nature. Murray, Edward M., 72, of Riverdale, NJ passed away August 19, 2019. Ed was warm and friendly; he often had a smile on his face and an Irish blessing in his heart. Born in New York City to the late John and Mary Murray, he resided in Allendale, NJ for twenty years and was a member of the Allendale Holiday Observers prior to moving to Riverdale eight years ago. He built his life around his family and was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. Myers, Dorothy Jane peacefully went home on Saturday August 17th, 2019 at the age of 91. She was born in Bloomingdale NJ at her parents’ home.She was the daughter of Harry and Catherine Hennion (deceased). She was also preceded in death by her husband James H. Myers and sisters Louise Vreeland and Edith Hennion.She is survived by her daughter Sherry Ann Knull (Gerald), her grandson Eric Knull, and her greatgrandchildren Kaitlyn Knull and Nathanael Knull. She and her husband were lifelong residents of Bloomingdale and longtime members of Bloomingdale United Methodist Church.
Parsons, Melvin Jr., 81, of West Milford, NJ entered into his reward on Wednesday, July 17, 2019. Melvin was born to Melvin H. Parsons Sr., and Katherine Turner, in Brooklyn, New York. Melvin graduated from Garden City High School, Garden City New York and received a degree from an Engineering Trade School. He married Eleanore Classen in 1968 and they lived together in West Milford. Melvin worked at ADT as an Electronics Engineer until he retired in the 1990s.Melvin died on July 17, 2019 as a result of pneumonia. He was living in Warm Beach, Washington at the time. He loved Warm Beach, but would always think of Livingston, Texas - where he had lived as a member of the Escapees RV Club as his home.Melvin is survived by two children, Heather Stefanini (married to Michael Stefanini), and Andrew Parsons (married to Julie Parsons). He also is survived by three grandchildren, Daniel, Rachel and Jack. Praise the Lord! Phillips, William W., 69, on Saturday, August 17, 2019. Beloved husband of Claudia (Butler) Phillips. A resident of West Milford for the past 20 years, he moved here from Oakland, NJ. William was the owner and proprietor of Bills Tire and Auto of Emerson, NJ. He was a 45 year member of the Oakland Elks and a member of the motorcycle club, Chosen Souls, of Oakland, NJ. Surviving in addition to his wife are five children, David, (wife Kathy) of West Milford, Terese Neff (fiancé, Steve Turek) of West Milford, Stephen (wife, Dawn) of Waldwick, Robert of Wayne and Jenn Phillips (fiance, Al Miller) of West Milford, one brother, Robert of England and two sisters, Laura and Donna Phillips both of Midland Park.
