Aungst, Steven P. Sr., 70, of Greenwood Lake, NY passed away August 30, 2022. Born in Paterson, NJ to the late Wes and Elizabeth Aungst, he was one of thirteen children growing up in Riverdale, NJ. Steven worked as a handyman around the Greenwood Lake Village, and enjoyed boating and fishing on the lake for the past twenty five years that he lived there. Beloved father of Joseph Aungst of Pompton Lakes, Steven Aungst Jr. of Riverdale, and Kimberly Aungst-Lukas of Sarasota, FL., six grandchildren Katie Lukas, Cheyenne, Brooke, Brianna, Joseph Jr., and Justin Aungst. Beach, Christina H., 80, of Hewitt, NJ on Monday, August 29, 2022. Born in Newark, NJ, Christina was the daughter of the late George and Eleanor (Farraday) Anderson. Employed by the West Milford Department of Transportation as a Supervisor, she was an avid traveler and enjoyed traveling in an R.V. Surviving are two daughters, Christine Bender (husband, Peter) of West Milford, NJ and Frances Somma Earl of Frederica, DE, two brothers, James Anderson of Key Port, NJ and Thomas Anderson of West Milford, NJ. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Sarah and Candice Bender, Dana Vizcarra, Jen Somma and Nadine Derkrikorian and 2 great grandchildren. Beek, Benjamin, 77, passed away August 17, 2022. Born in Paterson, NJ to the late Bert and Josephine Beek, he lived in North Haledon before moving to West Milford in 1976. He was a retired plumber working for William Paterson University, Wayne. Benjamin proudly served in both the U.S. Navy and Army, (Sgt. First Class) retiring from the Army reserves with over twenty-five years of service. He was a member of the Tin Can Sailors, enjoyed motorcycles and was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church, West Milford. Beloved husband of the late Gail (Murphy) Beek. Clark-Jones, Patricia A., 77, of West Milford passed away August 16, 2022. Patricia was a former accounts receivable clerk for M.H. & W Inc., Mahwah prior to her retirement. She was a parishioner of St Joseph's Church, West Milford and a former member and president of the Top Hatters Chapter of the Family Motor Coach Association. She was also a member and past board secretary of the Forest Hill Park Homeowners Association. Patricia was an avid traveler, animal lover and enjoyed watching her grandchildren's sporting events. She is predeceased by her husband John Jones in 2012. Beloved mother of Sean Clark and wife Nancy, grandchildren, Daniel and Cassandra Clark and sister, Constance Wells. Gardiner, William Ralph of Berlin, MA, peacefully passed away surrounded by family and friends on Monday, August 22, 2022, at age 86. He is predeceased by his loving wife Patricia Gardiner, of 52 years, daughters Alice Mickens and Evelyn McAndrews. He is survived by his beloved family, including daughters, Rita Vigneault, Joan Gardiner, Mary Villano, Althea Aranda, Patty Montani, and son William Phillip Gardiner; twenty-four grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. Bill was born in Passaic, NJ to Isabell and William John Gardiner. He grew up in Passaic and Oakland, NJ. He graduated from Pompton Lakes High School where he met his wife, Patricia. After graduation, Bill accepted an appointment to The United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT. But his love for Patricia was overwhelming. He left the academy and on June 15, 1955, they were married. Bill joined the Army in 1956 and served in the Army Security Agency at Kagnew Station, Asmara, Ethiopia (now Eritrea). When Bill returned home, he served the Pompton Lakes community as a Police Officer. He served 10 years on the Riverdale Board of Education and several years as its president. As board president, he fought for better student outcomes through teacher retention programs and professional development. Later in his professional career, Bill worked as a Marketing and Advertising account manager at The Ridgewood News and The New Jersey Bergen Record. Bill was a successful entrepreneur and businessperson. In 1974, Bill founded National Trade Shows, Inc., and a subsidiary WG Corporation, which provided marketing services to the Travel and Hospitality Industry. He successfully ran National Trade Shows as CEO for 30 years. Above all, we will remember Bill as a loving and generous friend, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved others sincerely, fought for what was right and clung to what was good. He was kindly devoted to his friends and family, celebrating good times and persevering through the bad. He gave to those in need, never asking for anything in return and always extended his home in hospitality. Hagedoorn, Garry J. III, 77 passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022. Beloved husband of the late Christina (Lettenbaur) Hagedoorn. Born in Paterson, NJ, he was the son of the late Garry J. Hagedoorn II and Mary (Koning) Hagedoorn. Survived by his daughter and son, Kim (Hagedoorn) Edwards and Paul Hagedoorn. Along with grandson Garry Pugh. He was an electrician in Local #102 and retired when he was 58 years old. He loved all that life had to offer and enjoyed going on Cruises and playing the slots. He loved to garden, work in the yard and play his online games. All services are private.
Storms, Linda Mae, 62, on August 6th, 2022, long time West Milford resident passed into eternity after a valiant battle with cancer. Linda was born to Reverend William and Anna Stelpstra, founders of West Milford based World for Christ Crusade. After graduating with a double major in Education and Biblical Studies, Linda started her career teaching 5th grade at Ringwood Christian School. Soon after, she and her husband moved back to West Milford to work full-time in Christian ministry for World for Christ Crusade. Since then they worked side by side, dedicating their lives to serving others at Bethel Ranch men’s home and the Ocean Side Retreat Center. Linda loved planning trips and parties for her family, had a hardworking and joyful spirit, and was always ready to listen to a friend in need. Linda is survived by her husband Morgan L. Storms Jr., her children Morgan N. Storms, Kimberly Tucker, son-in-law Richard Tucker, and granddaughter Addison Tucker. Treasured wife of the late Charles V. Worth, after 61 years of marriage. Predeceased by her sister Frances Denning Cassidy. Loving mother of Charles Kevin (Mark Maloney), Julie Ellen Butler (Timothy) and Kieran Patrick. Proud grandmother of Meghan Rose Butler, Caroline Ellen Butler and Luke Timothy Butler. Mary was the quintessential native New Yorker (Highbridge), with tremendous style and wit. A graduate of Saint Catherine Academy for Young Ladies, she was elegant of speech (“Prayers are more precious than diamonds and jewels”), and of dress (Best and Company was a favorite store). An excellent Irish dancer trained in the School of Professor McKenna. Respected professional with an administrative support career that spanned Morgan Guaranty Bank, Parents’ Magazine, local law practice and retail banking. We miss her and honor her memory.
