Akers, Charles” Butch” of Middletown, DE passed away at his home on December 21, 2022, after a long illness. Loved and admired by many Butch as he was known, he was always willing to help out family members or a friend in need. He had a zest for life and an infectious sense of humor. He always kept us on our toes. Butch enjoyed country dancing and loved spending time with the grandchildren. Butch was a Vietnam veteran who served two tours in Vietnam, serving proudly. He worked for Haskell paving and Tilcon Construction until he retired. Butch was a beloved son to the late Leroy Akers and the late Salome Akers and loving husband to Grace Akers of Delaware and admired father to Salone Brown of Wanaque NJ and son Charles Akers Jr of Delaware and bonus daughter Connie McGeorge of Texas, and a treasured Pop-Pop to Clarissa Brown, Alexa Akers, William Brown, and Bella Akers. He was a devoted brother to Mike Akers of Georgia, Dorothy Mansfield of Wayne NJ, Jean Hopper of Hamburg NJ, Laura Akers of PA, Trudy Sisco of Pompton Lakes NJ and Carolyn Hanak of Pompton Lakes NJ. He was preceded by his sister Salome Sillsbury, brothers John Akers, Jim Akers and Billy Akers. Memorial visitation Friday, January 6th from 5-7 pm at Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark-Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale, NJ. Burial will be held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Bear, Delaware at 2 PM on Monday, January 23, 2023.
Bialkowski, Ellen M. (Brown), 83, of West Milford, NJ on Thursday, December 1, 2022. Born in Maspeth Qeens, NY, she was the beloved daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth (Zelka) Brown. A resident of West Milford for the past fifty three years, Ellen was employed as a secretary for Jack Moniger Construction Co. of Lodi, NJ. Surviving is a son, Richard M. of West Milford. Predeceased by two brothers, Larry and Mickey and a sister, Dorothy. A memorial visitation will be held at Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford, NJ 07480 on Monday, December 12 from 4 to 8 PM. A memorial mass and burial will be scheduled at a later date.
Gabour, Eileen Rose (Rippon) passed away December 15 peacefully at home surrounded by family. Her husband Joseph Gabour Jr. predeceased her. Her parents Vincent Rippon, Margaret Rippon (Seifert), her sister Margaret Mary Lezette (Rippon), brother Vincent Rippon Jr. all predecessors. She is survived by her brother in law Robert Lezette and several nieces and nephews. She has resided at the Chelsea at Bald Eagle in West Milford for the past ten years. She had lived in Oakridge, NJ, and prior to Dumont, NJ. She grew up in Ridge field Park, NJ and was born in Bronx, NY. She worked for PSE&G Company in Hackensack, NJ for nine years in customer service before moving to Italy while her husband was stationed in US Navy. A service was at Richards Funeral home on December 20 with her nephew and nieces and their families. Following was a mass at St Joseph’s Church in West Milford. NJ with an internment at St Joseph’s Cemetery.
Grippo, Angelina “Angie” Marie of West Milford, NJ has passed away at the age of 89 on December 31st, 2022. Angie met her husband Richard J. Grippo in 1951 in New York City. They married in 1956 and later had three daughters. In 1968 the family moved to West Milford where they have been residing ever since. Angie worked for the West Milford Township Tax Assessor Department for 17 years until she retired to enjoy traveling and spending time with her family. She was a loving, compassionate, strong and sensitive person with an amazing sense of humor and quick wit. She enjoyed cooking and was very creative. Angie is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Vincenza Mazzamorra and her brother Matthew Mazzamorra Survived by her loving husband Richard J. Grippo, daughters: Karen & Bud Luke, Susan & Cliff Lill and Janice Francisco & Paul Sendgikoski. Grandchildren, Nicole & Eric Nolting, Corey & Amaris Lill. Great Grandchildren. McDonald, Kevin E. of West Milford, NJ died December 14, 2022. He was born, to the late Frank and Cheryl McDonald. Kevin was a 2015 graduate of DePaul Catholic High School in Wayne, NJ where he was a member of the varsity baseball team. He then received his associates degree at Passaic County Community College and was currently attending NJIT majoring in engineering. Kevin loved to be outdoors. Spent his summers on his family’s boat and skiing in the winter with family and friends. He shared his brother,s love for the NY Mets and you could always catch him rooting for the NY Giants on Sundays or at a Devils game in his family’s season ticket seats. Kevin is predeceased by his father Frank McDonald, mother Cheryl McDonald, and grandparents Frank and Penelope McDonald. He is survived by his brother Scott McDonald and wife Marisa McDonald of West Milford, NJ. Nephew Scotty and niece Shealynn. Grandparents, Dr. & Mrs. Charles Hinz of Ocean Pines, Maryland. Several Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and tons of friends. Kevin’s smile and beautiful eyes were contagious. If you were in his presence you loved him instantly. He will be missed by so many especially his family and close friends. Romano, Cynthia,"Cindi", 65, of West Milford, left the Earth on December 18th, 2022. Born in Gardiner, New York, Cindi was the only child to William and Karen Conner. She loved her childhood town and talked fondly of her time there. For 33 years, Cindi was a proud West Milford and Lindy’s Lake resident. She was the vice president of the lake board, manor house volunteer for rentals, head of lake polar plunge, that raised funds for improvements to the manor house. Summers on the beach with her blonde hair and amazing tan, you could go up to her and be sure to have a laugh with her quick sarcastic wit and her sense of humor. Cindi was such a devoted mother to her son, Nicholas. She loved when he would come over for a visit and was so proud of everything he did in life. Cindi’s heart and soul beamed when she saw a dog or cat. She was a big promoter of animal rescue and adoption. She had many a dog and cat in her life, but her Luna was her constant companion where ever she went. Everyone who knew her has a story with Cindi. She was a loving person and friend to all who crossed her path. Cindi leaves behind her son, Nicholas, his partner, Danielle, her dog, Luna and many loved friends and family. A celebration of her life will take place on December 29 from 4 PM to 9 PM at the Lindy's Lake manor house located on 270 Maple Road, West Milford. Teabo, Jesse, 55 of Oak Ridge, NJ on Saturday, December 17, 2022. Beloved husband of Loreen (Battersby) Teabo. Born in Paterson, NJ, Jesse was employed as a tow truck driver working for several area companies. Surviving in addition to his wife are four sisters, Kimberly Teabo of Greentown, PA, Karen Bunning of West Milford, NJ, Lynn McCallum of Dingmans Ferry, PA and Samantha Teabo of Wayne, NJ. Jesse is also survived by nine nieces and nephews and great uncle to fifteen nieces and nephews.
