Barbaro, Phyllis F. (Prudenti), 86, passed away July 22, 2018. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Barbaro for 63 years, and the daughter of the late Antonio and Fanny (De Vito) Prudenti. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons Joseph Barbaro Jr. (wife Kerri), of West Milford, NJ, Anthony Barbaro of Maryland, Mark Barbaro (wife Maryann) of Montville, NJ, grandchildren Amber, Morgan, Chris, Mark, Rachel and Shari, and two great grandchildren. Fitzpatrick, John, 54, passed on July 22, 2018. Born in Paterson, Mr. Fitzpatrick resided in Totowa. He had been a carpet installer and was a partner with Fitzpatrick & Sons in Franklin.
He is survived by two brothers, James Fitzpatrick and Dennis Fitzpatrick, both of Paterson and four sisters, Sheila Fitzpatrick of Paterson, Regina Barberri of South Jersey, Catherine Louridas of Paterson and Veronica Struble of Wayne. Hourihan, Robert T. (Bobby), age 56, passed away peacefully in his home in Palm Bay, Florida on July 22nd, 2018. Bobby was born and raised in Rego Park, NY and spent summers with his family and friends at his beloved Pinecliff Lake in NJ. He was a graduate of St. John’s University and worked as an IT Consultant and Help Desk Analyst at AT&T and IBM. He was a resident of Rego Park, NY, West Milford, NJ and Palm Bay, Florida. Bobby was an incredibly caring individual who will be remembered for his compassion, kindness and gentle soul. He is survived by his greatly loved mother, Marie Hourihan, along with his devoted brothers and sisters - Jeanne and her husband Ron, Nancy, Kevin and his wife Vanessa, Don and Ginger. Bobby (“UB”) also leaves behind his adoring niece and nephews - Mike, Jaci, Jim, Matt, Nick, Joe and Ryan. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert John Hourihan. Miller, Roger Sr., 72, husband of Linda (Coar), passed on July 2, 2018. Born in Paterson, Mr. Miller was a lifelong resident of Pompton Lakes. He had served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and had been self-employed as an electrician. He was a member of the VFW 2906 of Pompton Lakes. Along with his wife, he is survived by one son, Roger, Jr. (and wife, Laura), one daughter, Michelle, all of Pompton Lakes, two brothers, Ronald Miller (and wife, Barbara) of Bellmawa, NJ and Lloyd Miller (and wife, Joan) of Pompton Lakes, one sister, Patricia Leef (and husband, Donald) of Pleasonton, CA and three grandchildren, Daniel, Alissa and Cristina. Papini, Sharon A., 59, passed away on July 31, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Grace (Cahill) Papini. Sharon was employed as a Courtesy Counter Clerk at Shop Rite of West Milford, as well as an Administrative Assistant for Diversitech in Riverdale, NJ and was also a life-long resident of West Milford. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Morris County Woman’s Bowling League. Surviving are brother Joseph R. Papini (wife Regina), sisters Linda Barker (husband John) of Hewitt and Debra Morley (husband Michael) of West Milford, several nieces and nephews and dog Abby. A graveside service is to take place Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Cedar Heights Cemetery, Ridge Road, West Milford. Skerchock, Margaret E., 81, wife of Edward, passed on Thursday, July 12, 2018. Born in Garfield, Mrs. Skerchock resided in West Milford for 41 years, coming from Wanaque & Wayne. Graduating from William Patterson University in Wayne, she had been employed as a school teacher for Oakland Elementary School. Along with her husband, she is survived by one brother, Dr. Joseph Buzansky of Old Tappan, one nephew, John Buzansky of PA and one niece, Judy Stankus of Montvale. Strain, James B., "Jim" age 81 passed away July 4th, 2018. Born in New York City to the late James and Edith (Kirwan) Strain, he resided in Kinnelon since 1961. Before retiring, Jim worked for B.A.E Systems in Wayne, NJ as an electrical engineer. Beloved husband of 58 years of Dira (Mullin) Strain, loving father of James Michael Strain and wife Michele of Basking Ridge, NJ and Dira Lynn Cannistraro and husband David of Wellesley, MA. Grandfather of Caitlin, Christopher, Alec, Ryan, Jason and Marc. Jim’s love for his family and all six grandchildren ran deeply. In addition to family, he always had a smile, joke or story for friends and strangers alike. Van Dunk, Stanley S., 92 passed away July 20, 2018. Beloved husband of Joyce (De Groat) Van Dunk and son of the late Herman and Easter (Morgan) Van Dunk, he was a resident of West Milford Township for 49 years. He was an Army Veteran who served in the Korean War, and was also a member of the Good Shepherd Episcopalian Church in Ringwood. In addition to his wife, surviving are sons Stanley Van Dunk Jr. of Maine, Keith Van Dunk of Highland Lakes, NJ and Gregory Van Dunk of Pine Island, NY, daughter Lea Van Dunk of Hewitt, NJ, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
