Chaplain, Jonathon Zachary Sr., 26, passed away suddenly on Saturday June 12, 2021. Beloved son of Deborah Bielski and Josiah Chaplain Sr.. Jonathon is also survived by his son Jonathon Zachary Chaplain Jr., three brothers Josiah Jr., Joshua, Jordan Chaplain, a sister Faith Curto, a special nephew, Josiah III loving aunts, uncles, cousins lots of nieces and nephews and his two pupperdoggies , JC and Diamond. He loved playing football as a kid, so full of spunk, comedian at times, the Leo did come out at times, was always there help anybody in a heartbeat, such a great young man with a heart of gold that he always had. He will truly be missed by too many, until we meet again, everybody loves you so much. He is not suffering anymore, he is running in the pastures in Heaven with no more pain. Jonathon is our Guardian Angel always and forever will be. God bless his perfect soul, Amen. Visitation hours Sunday, June 20, 1-4 PM at Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford. Davino, Claudia L., 49, of West Milford passed away June 22,2021. Beloved mother of her five children, Amber, Brittany, Brian, Andrew, and Ashley Vigilante, and Nana of Kayleigh and Charlotte. Partner for 17 years Edward Czermax. Loving daughter of Arlene (Peterson) Davino and the late Nunzio Davino. Also predeceased by her sister Pamela Weaver. Visitation is on Tuesday, June 29 from 4-8 pm at Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford. Prayers and moments of reflection at 7 pm.
Eissmann, Jean L (Luning), age 88, of West Milford passed away on June 26, 2021 after a lengthy and brave battle with cancer. She married her loving husband Carl Eissmann in 1954. They started their lives together in Elmwood Park (formerly East Paterson) where they lived for 47 years before making their home in West Milford for the past 19 years. They also had a year round vacation home in Towamensing Trails, PA where they spent many happy weekends getting away with friends and family. Jean loved making her house into a home filled with good food, laughter and love. Born in Peekskill, NY she was the daughter of the late Henry and Emily (Welshowy) Luning.  Jean was employed as a secretary for Motorola Corporation in Glen Rock, NJ for many years.  She had been a member of the condo association board at Bald Eagle Commons and had been involved with their crocheting club.  She and Carl were also volunteers at the Center for Food Action in Saddle Brook. Jean's father Henry and his brother died in WWII when the ship they were on, the USAT Dorchester, was struck by a torpedo in 1943.  She never missed the annual memorial mass held at St. Stephen’s RC Church in Kearny, NJ for the Four Chaplains, who also perished aboard that ship. Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Linda (Richard Babick) of Lawrenceville, NJ and Barbara (Thomas Homler) of Hawthorne, NJ.  Also surviving are four grandchildren, Kathryn (Benjamin Brickner), Andrew Babick, John Homler and Emily Homler and one great grandchild, Abigail (Brickner). A memorial mass will be held at St. Anthony’s RC Church in Hawthorne, NJ at a future date.  Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers please send a contribution to the charity of your choice.
Hedson, William of Upper Greenwood Lake, NJ and Florida passed away on June 15, 2021. He was 66 years old. Beloved and loving husband of MaryEllen, beloved brother-in-law of Ann, his "Sis", and daddy of fur baby Dora. He leaves a family of loving friends, cousins, and church families in Upper Greenwood Lake, NJ, New York, Florida, and Malta, all of whom have called him their own. He was very proud to have been the youngest operating engineer, Local 30, in New York City history when he began his career, later enjoying his homes in Upper Greenwood Lake and Florida. He was a very avid and accomplished outdoorsman, boater, and fisherman, always sharing his love for the outdoors with others. He loved fishing the lakes of New Jersey, New York, Florida, and the Florida Gulf. Captain Bill always loved taking friends and family on his pontoon boat in Greenwood Lake and Florida; everyone loved being his crew. He loved his trip to Malta, cruises to Cozumel, Alaska, the Caribbean, and Maine and Canada, having the captain of the cruise ship take the helm. Being a fisherman, he always said he lived with the "catch of his life," his beloved wife MaryEllen. He was hers, too! Their everyday a day in paradise. We thank him for the gift he was to all of us and the beautiful life we shared with him. William is predeceased by his parents, William and Emma, and sister Marilyn. May William's memory be eternal! Lanzo, Ralph rest In peace Ralph on June 18th 2021. Ralph was a loving Husband, Father, Pop Pop, Son, Brother, and Friend. Ralph was known for having a tough guy exterior that his granddaughter Aaliyah was able to break down, she brought him so much joy. Ralph also was a great pop pop to the new addition to the family Saverio. Ralph was an amazing, hardworking, commendable husband, working two jobs when his children were little so that his wife Maryann could stay home with the kids. He was the type of father that knew how to fix & do anything. He raised beautiful children, Gabriella, Sophia, Joseph, along with his granddaughter Aaliyah. He loved hanging out on the boat, trips to Myrtle Beach, and eating good food. Ralph will carry on in our hearts and watching over us in heaven with his sister Darcy. Mahon, Walter passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.  He was 95. Walter was born to the late William and Mary (Nelson) Mahon. He was raised in Haskell, NJ and attended Butler High School. He served in the US Army Air Core from 1944 to 1946 as an Athletic Instructor. In 1949 he married Wilma Cooper and moved to Riverdale, NJ where they raised their three sons, Walter R. Mahon, Robert E. Mahon and Gary A. Mahon. Walter worked as a Supervising Engineer at Curtis Wright. He retired in 1985 and they moved to Honesdale, PA. He enjoyed woodworking and making bird houses to benefit St.Jude Children’s Hospital. He was predeceased by his brother William Mahon and sister Audrey (Mahon) Domanski. Walter is survived by his son, Gary Mahon and his wife Nancy Sommerville-Mahon, Robert Mahon and his partner Debra White and Walter Mahon and his wife Deborah. He was also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held June 4 at Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road in West Milford from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Shaw, Daniel E., 59 of Riverdale passed away on June 21, 2020. Danny recently moved to Haskell, NJ to the Lakeland Health Care Facility as he battled Parkinson’s disease. He was a parishioner at ST. Mary’s Church in Pompton Lakes and a member of their CCD program for special needs. He was a graduate of Passaic County Vo-Tech High School. Danny was a dedicated employee to Friendly’s Restaurant in Pompton Plains, and retired after 22 years of service. He was an active member of Explorer Post #136 sponsored by Pompton Lakes Elks Lodge #1895 and for more than 40 years. He participated in the NJ Special Olympics and competed in Bowling, proudly making the 200 club, the track and field events in Wayne, NJ and the fishing and crabbing events held in Sea Isle City. He loved music and dancing and enjoyed going to the monthly Canteen events held at Pompton Reform Church. He was an avid Mets fan who enjoyed going to the stadium and watching the games on TV. He loved the Riverdale Fire Dept. and spent years watching the Apparatus depart and would be waiting patiently for the trucks to return asking many questions. He was later named an honorary firefighter by the dept. members. Danny is survived by his mother Theresa R.“Terry” Shaw, recently of Boonton, one brother, Tom E. Shaw, his wife Jodi, and niece Rachel of Newton, Two cousins, Mary and Susan Lowe of Keyport, NJ and dearest friends Tom Fox, his wife Marcella, and daughter Theresa Dunay of Bloomingdale. Summerell, Rosemary, 73, passed away on June 9, 2021 at Milford Senior Care, Milford, PA. Daughter of the late Albert & Mary Regeling, Sr. Rosemary spent most of her life in Riverdale, NJ before relocating with her family to Stockholm & then Dingmans Ferry, Pa. Rosemary was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Grieg Summerell & her brothers Tony & Buzzy. She is survived by her daughter Laurie O'Connell & her husband Peter, son Christopher Summerell & his wife Harriet, grandchildren Dominic, Peter Jr., Kaitlyn, Matthew, Ryan & Megan O'Connell & Carla Summerell all of Dingmans Ferry. The oldest of 12, she is also survived by her siblings Jimmy, Mike, Albie, Louise, MaryAnn, Marcella, JoAnn, Eugene & Robert as well as many nieces, nephews & in laws. Rosemary worked as a machinist for The Applicator Co & for Sava Industries both in Riverdale. She was a member & past President of the RIverdale Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. As per her wishes we will be bringing Rosemary "home" to Riverdale for her final goodbye. Arrangements are by Richards Funeral Home on Newark Pompton Turnpike in Riverdale. Viewing will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 9 am till Noon to be immediately followed by burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery on Bartholdi Ave in Butler NJ & a repast at the Riverdale Fire House on Post Lane.
Wallasky, Matthew J., 83, went to meet his Lord and Savior on June 15, 2021. Born in Cliffside Park, NJ, the son of Mateus and Susan Wallasky, Matt resided in West Milford, NJ for the past 18 years. He served in the US Air Force from 1955 to 1959. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Newark College of Engineering. His career in the engineering and construction industry included 25 years with Foster Wheeler Corporation where he held several positions; Estimating Manager in the Process Plants Division, Commercial Director and Senior Project Manager of F. S. Constructors. Matt was a member of Echo Lake Baptist Church where he served as Treasurer and as a member of the Leadership Board. He is survived by his loving wife Carol and his daughter, Susan Daniele, her husband Rich, his beloved grandsons Ricky and Alex and his daughter Meredith and her husband Eric McClanahan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. Friends may call at the Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford, NJ on Tuesday, June 22 from 3 – 7 PM.
