Christofi, Anthony Sr., 80, of Hewitt, NJ on Saturday, June 17, 2023. Husband of the late Alice B. Christofi for sixty years. Born in Pygros Limassol, Cyprus, he was the son of the late Christofis and Maria (Paissides) Antonious, An insurance agent for Prudential Ins. Co. of Totowa, Anthony has been a resident of Haskell for the past year, moving here from West Milford, NJ. Surviving are a son, Anthony Jr (wife, Cheryl) of Fair Lawn, NJ, two daughters, Wendy Baglieri (husband, Paul) of Oakland, NJ, Allison Battinelli (husband, Tony) of Hewitt, NJ, one sister, Andrea Adams of Bridgewater, NJ. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Predeceased by a brother, Gus. Private disposition. Private family service is planned in Maine.
Dedio, Evelyn, 99, passed away June 30, 2023 in South Carolina. She was a former resident of Riverdale, NJ. Beloved mother of Thomas and wife Judith, Debra Fox and husband James. Grandmother of six and great grandmother of five. Predeceased by her husband Thomas. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 7, 10:30 am at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. Durling, Douglas S., 73, of Ringwood passed away peacefully on June 28, 2023. He retired after 39 years from teaching at Pope John the XXIII High School in Sparta. He is survived by his wife Dagmar (Ludwig) Durling, sons Scott and his wife Lisa, and Derek and his wife Brittanie, his grandsons, Luke, Logan, and Liam, his brother William G. Durling and his wife Marie, his nephews, Erik and Bill and niece Deidre and family. He was predeceased by his parents and nephew Michael. Hardin, David, 73, passed away on Corpus Christi Sunday June 11, 2023 at home surrounded by family. Born to the late David and Kathleen (Grady) Hardin. He grew up in Rutherford, NJ until marrying his high school sweetheart in 1974. David loved God, his family, and his country. He served his country as a Lance Corpal in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War where he earned a Purple Heart May 29th 1969. In thanksgiving for his life, he faithfully went to mass every May 29th for the next 54 years. He went on to become a police officer and served in Woodridge and Waldwick before joining the West Milford Township Police Department achieving rank of Captain. He always said that a police officer's job was to "protect and serve". After thirty six years of service he retired in 2008. David was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Hewitt. He was the beloved husband of Lucille P. (Davis) Hardin of 49 years. The loving father of, David Hardin and his wife Christina, Corey Hardin and his wife Melissa, and Kristin Dalelio and her husband Dennis. The happy grandfather of Jonas, Elijah, Kylee, Micah, Caleb, Lincoln, Tobias, Myles and Ezra. The big brother of Alan Hardin, Karen Decker, Lynn Gutchess, Kim Sherwood and Annie Passino. He was predeceased by his big sister Kathleen Irizarry. Visiting hours are Thursday, June 15, 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Richards Funeral Home, West Milford. Koharian, Raymond J., 88, of West Milford, NJ passed away June 9, 2023. Raymond taught elementary school for thirty years in West Milford and Spring Valley, NY retiring in 1990. A 1952 graduate of Dwight Morrow High School, Englewood, he served in the Army before graduating from Seton Hall Univ., and later from William Paterson College. Lapham, Walter Harry, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and family on Wednesday June 14, 2023. Walter was born in the Bronx, NY to the late John and Eleanore (Olsen) Lapham. He received his degree from NYU Stern School of Business. On April 25th 1964, he married Marilyn Ehle Lapham. Walter and Marilyn started their family in Commack, Long Island, NY. In 1976, they moved to Green Pond NJ, their forever special place where they they raised their daughter Jill and son David. Walter was a devoted husband, a very caring and loving father, and a very spiritual man who gave endlessly to all those he loved. Walter was active in his community volunteering endless hours to help better the place they call home. His passions were fishing on Green Pond the lake he resided, volunteering for his church, and spending time with his family, especially his three grandchildren, Emmi, Jack & Bryson. He is survived by his wife Marilyn, his daughter Jill and her husband John(JR), his son David and his wife Julie, his 3 grandchildren Emmi (23), Jack(23) and Bryson(18), his brothers John and Jim, and his sister Genevieve. A service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday June 28th at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 508 Green Pond Rd, Rockaway New Jersey. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Green Pond Yacht Club. McCourt Sr., Anthony Joseph “Tony”, 67, of West Milford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 22, 2023 after a long, courageous battle with colon cancer and dementia. He was surrounded by his family in his home in West Milford. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Raymond McCourt. He is survived by his wife, Cathy; sons, Tony, Jr. (Nidia) and Bryan (T.C); grandchildren, Grace and Anthony; sister, Debbie Svendsen (Peter); and brother, Raymond. Services will be held at Richards Funeral Home in West Milford, NJ on June 26th, 2023 between 4PM-8PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Born on May 20, 1956 to parents Rose Caraphelo and Raymond Wesley McCourt in Paterson, New Jersey, Tony attended Passaic County Tech where he studied to be an electrical apprentice. He went on to join the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country as an avionics systems technician stationed at Loring AFB in Maine. He obtained the rank of Airman First Class and received an honorable discharge in 1979. Tony was very proud of his service to his country. He met the love of his life, Cathy Lynn Earl, in 1980. The two were married on August 22, 1982. Because of Tony’s love of sports, and love for his children, he spent many years supporting them as their coach in basketball, baseball, hockey, and roller hockey. Tony’s family was his life. He worked as hard as he could for as long as he could to support them and provide them with the best possible life. He taught his boys, and later his grandchildren, the importance of family, being positive, and his favorite phrase of “make the best of everything,” no matter the circumstances. He was a family man like no other. In celebration of Tony’s life and in commemoration of his favorite color we ask all those who wish to participate to wear red.
Wills, Audrey Marie (Struble), passed away, unexpectedly at her home on Monday, June 26th 2023 at the age of 55. She resided in Greenville, NY, where she enjoyed her days at home, after a life long career in retail, most recently at A&P/Acme, where she devoted 32 years. Anyone that knew Audrey, knew her for her kind heart, fun personality and dedication to her family. She enjoyed vacationing, and spending time with friends and family. Audrey is survived by her loving husband of over 33 years, John A. Wills. She also leaves behind her beloved sons, Tucker (Heidi) Wills, Trent (Lynda Wickham) Wills, and her cherished granddaughter, Teigan Wills. Her surviving family also includes her sister, Kelly (Bryan) Koczon, brothers James and Matthew Struble, nephew Tommy Koczon, and neice Molly Koczon. Brother-in-law James (Lori) Wills, and inlaws, John (Sandra) Wills. Along with a large extended family. Audrey was predeceased by her parents, James and Geraldine Struble. All services are private under the care of Richards Funeral Home, West MIlford. A memorial gathering to be announced at the convenience of the family at a later date.
Yodice, Thomas P., 84, of Bloomingdale, NJ passed away June 13, 2023. Born in Paterson to the late Thomas and Rose Yodice, he was a sheet metal worker for Local Union 25, Carlstadt. Thomas proudly served his country in the Air Force. Beloved father of Jerry and Patrick Yodice, Matthew Yodice and his wife Karen. Grandfather of Shane Yodice and brother of Martin Yodice.
