Bowersox, Charleen, 65, of Bloomingdale on Saturday, March 16, 2019. Born in Paterson, NJ, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Rhuenella (Mathews) Bowersox and a life long resident of Bloomingdale, NJ. A graduate of Butler High School, Charleen was employed as a bus driver for First Student Tranporation of Butler, NJ. Surviving are two brothers, William H (wife, Dorothy) of Riverdale, NJ and John R. (wife, Ann) of Little Egg Harbor, NJ and one sister, Sandra A. Woottoon of Cape May Courthouse, NJ and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother, Gerald (2007) and a sister, Nancy L. Spellmon (2014). Dutton, Thomas H., 66, passed away March 25, 2019. Born in Passaic he was the son of the late Harold and Eleanor (Kasko) Dutton, Thomas lived in Hewitt, NJ for the past twenty years and was previously from Pompton Lakes. He was an active member and Captain of the Pompton Lakes Fire Dept. A U.S. Navy veteran, Thomas worked in maintenance at Cedar Crest Village in Pompton Plains for the past eight years. Surviving are a son Thomas Dutton Jr., two daughters, Elizabeth Dutton and Stefanie Phillippe (husband Shaun), and two sisters, Kathy Dutton and Diane Hokke, Also surviving are two grandchildren, Tyler and Chase. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends. Pre-deceased by his wife, Margaret-Mary “Missy” Dutton (1991) and his brother Allan (2013). Erbe, Pamela Anne (Loeffel), 69, passed away on March 27, 2019. Born in Jersey City to the late Harold P. (“Jimmy”) and Marguerite M. (Myslik) Loeffel. Pam was raised in North Bergen but has resided in West Milford for most of her life. Mrs. Erbe was a school teacher for the West Milford School District for thirty one years, teaching in Upper Greenwood Lake Elementary School. She loved taking rides on the motorcycle with her husband, gardening, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. Beloved wife of Gus Erbe. Gensheimer, Clare (Braun), age 88, of West Milford, New Jersey went to be with the Lord on March 13, 2019. She is survived by 9 children: Helene, Patricia, Paul, John, Mary Ellen, Elaine, Irene, Teresa and Thomas. Clare was an active member of St. Joseph’s Church, West Milford since 1973. She was among the first group of Eucharistic Ministers commissioned by Bishop Casey in 1974. She brought the Eucharist to Catholics in Chilton Memorial Hospital, Milford Manor and Hi Way House for many years and served as Sacristan for many years. Additionally, Clare took great pride as the Christmas and Easter decorating coordinator at the church.She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Philip Sr. and devoted son, Philip Jr. She was grandmother to 18 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Clare was dedicated to both family and her church community. She is now eating from the tree of life and drinking from the river that flows from the throne of God! Visitation will be at Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford, N.J. on Sunday March 17, 2019 from 2-6 PM. Guzman, Jeronimo (Jerry), 39, of West Milford passed away on March 2, 2019. He is predeceased by his mother Clara Guzman. Jerry is survived by his Father Jose Guzman of WM. His sister Diane Garcia and her husband Philip of Lincoln Park, Kenneth Guzman, wife Elizabeth and son Emmett of Florida and Louis Guzman of Vernon. His nephew Joey Olcay of Vernon, Anthony Olcay of WM, Louis Guzman, Jr of Vernon and Joshua Pena of Lincoln Park. His great nephew Rowan Olcay and great niece Ava Olcay. His aunts and uncles and cousins. Jerry will be sadly missed by all. He had a kind and loving soul. Jones, Jocelyn A., 49, passed away March 23, 2019. Born in Hackensack, NJ to Dolores Jeanne Jones and the late Colin Jones, she resided in West Milford Township for most of her life. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband Robert Degnan and her son Jack Degnan of Hewitt, and a sister Jennifer Jones of Virginia. Jocelyn worked for CNBC Television in Englewood Cliffs, NJ as a media manager. A memorial visitation will take place Friday, April 5th from 10 am to 12 pm at Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road West Milford, with a prayer service at 11:30 am. Krak, Emil Michael, 98, of West Milford, formerly of Clifton, on Saturday, March 2, 2019. Husband of the late Florence (De Ghetto) Krak. Born in Clifton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Sophia (Tomakazic) Krak. Emil was an Army veteran of WWII, where he was a radio man serving in the Andennes (Belgium), Central Europe, Northern France and Rhineland and was a recipient of a Purple Heart. Emil was employed by the Clifton Post Office (Main Avenue) as a letter carrier for many years delivering mail to the homes in and around the Botany Village Section of Clifton. He was a member of American Legion Post 347 of Clifton, an avid lifelong supporter of the New York Yankees and a long time parishioner of SS. Cyril & Methodius RC Church. Surviving are several nieces and a nephew. A private entombment will be held with a future memorial mass at a later date to be announced.
Lafont, Veronica (Stahl), 71, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. Born in Hoboken, Mrs. Lafont grew up in Union City, Bogota, and then graduated from Weehawken High School in 1966. After marrying the love of her life, Roni raised her two daughters in Pompton Lakes with her husband, Henri, of 26 years. After Henri passed, she continued residing in Pompton Lakes before moving to Riverdale 12 years ago. Roni had been a computer operator for Curtin Matheson Scientific for more than 20 years and then worked at Russ Berrie for 10 years until retirement. She was the loving mother of Marguerite Soojian and husband Steven, of Pompton Lakes and Marie-Françoise Galletta and husband Jason, of Riverdale. She was the beloved sister of Dorothy Stahl of West New York, George Stahl of Howell, and James Stahl of North Carolina. Step-sister of Caroline Wentworth, William Smith, George Smith, and Charles Smith. Grandmother to Samantha Galletta, Sarah Soojian, Olivia Galletta, and Jacob Soojian. Roni was predeceased by her parents George Stahl and Veronica Stahl (née Pfeiffer), husband Henri Lafont, and two sisters Viola Basciano (née Stahl) and Edna Kucks (née Stahl). Reid, Alta I. (Van Riper), passed away Sunday March 31, 2019 at the age of 82. Alta was born and lived her entire life in Bloomingdale, NJ. She was the daughter of Alvie and Gladys (nee Vanderhoff) Van Riper. Alta graduated from Butler High School and was a member of the Butler United Methodist Church. Alta is predeceased by her husband of almost 50 years, Robert G. Reid. She is survived by her cousin Janet Schraft and many friends.
