Admirand, David J. lost his battle with cancer November 18, 2020 surrounded by his family. Forty-five of his sixty-five years were spent with his wife, Colleen Dobbs Admirand, and their growing family. They welcomed three children, one son-in-law and two grandsons and over the years five dogs, 3 of which were rescues. They celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary on August 4, 2020. He graduated from Wayne Hills High School where he was a member of the soccer team and played clarinet in the marching band, the stage band, the jazz band, and the concert band. David earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). While attending NJIT, he was on the Dean’s Academic Honors List. David earned his Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate while working at IBM and later earned his Professional Engineer (PE) License. His honesty, integrity, work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to help others will be remembered by his co-workers past and present. He was employed by PTS Data Center Solutions located in Oakland, NJ. He was an avid sailor for most of his life. As a member of the Pines Lake Sailing Club, in the Duster class, he earned a number of trophies. One of the highlights of his sailing youth was sailing aboard a 41’ yacht with the Sea Explorers. His passion for sailing switched to motorcycles with the purchase of his first motorcycle a few months after getting married. He enjoyed taking the scenic route to work in all kinds of weather—even one very snowy winter, until the snow became too deep to navigate. A highlight of riding his bike was when he and his son, Phil, rode their bikes out to the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days at the Mid-Ohio Racetrack two Julys in a row. David loved music and played piano, clarinet, and a wide assortment of wooden (and tin) flutes and whistles and an ocarina. He had a band: Take 5 that included members: Dean Dobbs (his brother-in-law) on guitar, Mike Weinstein on drums, Dave DeLucca on Saxophone, while he played the electric piano. One of their gigs was playing for the outdoor engagement party for Colleen and Dean’s aunt. As a parent he was involved with his children’s activities. He coached PAL Soccer in West Milford where he and his family lived for the past 38 years. He taught Sunday school at the Newfoundland United Methodist Church and mentored a number of the youth for their Confirmation. He sang in the Adult Church Choir and played bells in the Adult Bell Choir, sometimes assisting in the younger children’s bell choir. David is survived by his wife Colleen Dobbs Admirand, their three children; sons, Phillip Admirand and Joshua Admirand; daughter Jessica Admirand her husband Thomas McGoldrick and their two sons Jack and Hank McGoldrick; and two rescue dogs, Jameson and Reilly. He is survived by his mother Josephine M. Snoop Admirand, sisters Su Admirand and Tricia Admirand Nussenbaum and her husband Gary Nussenbaum and their two children, and brother Mark Admirand his wife Colleen Weber Admirand and their two children. A celebration of David’s life is being planned for 2021, date TBA.
Bevilacqua, Marydele (Babbini), 78 of West Milford on Thursday, November 19, 2020. Beloved wife of Michael Bevilacqua. Born in Cliffside Park, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Annio and Pamela (Marcucci) Babbini. She was employed as an accountant in New York City on the 18th floor of the World Trade Center. Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Michael and Jason Masiero, one daughter, Pamela Abuchun and two grandchildren. Burris, Jonathon Christopher, 32, born to Robert L. Burris Sr. and Mary E. Burris of Mahwah NJ passed away on November 23rd, 2020 at the Valley Hospital, Ridgewood NJ. He leaves behind his parents Robert and Mary Burris, his loving wife Marissa Burris, his sister Mary Beth DiGiulio and brother-in-law, Jeffrey DiGiulio, his brother Robert L. Burris Jr and sister-in-law Jacqueline Burris, his brother Austin Burris and sister-in-law, Rachel Darby, also sister-in-laws, Jaimee VanDunk and Janae VanDunk. His nephews and nieces, Marcus and Jayleigh DiGiulio, Robert III and Janiyah Burris, Bailey, Brayden and Brooklyn Mann, amongst many others that referred to him as "Uncle Jon"! He also leaves behind his last living grandparent, Sondra Burris, aunts, uncles, many, many cousins and many, many friends to which he was known as "Pun". He had a big beautiful heart and will forever live on in ours, although the void he left will never be filled. As his family we ask that you take COVID19 seriously! Delgado Salas Vda De Fernandez, Olga, 88 years old, of Pompton Lakes, passed away on November 8, 2020. Predeceased by her parents Adrian and Gumercinda Salas Delgado. Olga was born in Peru and gave selflessly to serving meals to her Monsignor and volunteering in her church before making her way to America in 2003. She was very dedicated to her faith and the Pompton Reformed Church where she spent much of her time caring for the sanctuary and greeting the many parishioners and employees. She also enjoyed going to work with her daughter at Don Pepe Peruvian I in Jamesburg, NJ where she volunteered many hours of her time cleaning and greeting their customers. Olga’s greatest accomplishment was her family. They meant everything to her and she was the center of their world. She loved taking care of her grandchildren, cooking them their favorite Peruvian meals as well as making sure anything they needed was taken care of. Olga is survived by her four daughters and their husbands whom she loved very much. Doris and Michael O’Conner, Fiorella and Martin Davis, Elizabeth and Victor Vargas, and Patricia and Mario Saldana, her four grandchildren who she was extremely proud of, Camila Payer and her husband Michael, Ximena Payer and her husband Anthony, Diego Vargas and Luhanna Saldana. Galiano, Joseph, 63, of Riverdale,NJ, passed away on November 16, 2020. Joseph was born in Passaic, NJ to the late Anthony and Lucy (Conosceienti) Galiano (Liv). He is predeceased by his wife Ellen. Joseph was the night manager at EVS Metal in Riverdale. He is survived by his two children, Anthony of New Windsor, NY and Dana Maher of New Paltz, NY. Also surviving are his two brothers, Anthony and Louis Galiano and two sisters, Stella Ditta and Mary Czerepuzko. He also has one grandson David Maher. Visitation will be held at Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale, NJ 07457 on Friday November 20th from 1PM-4PM with a service at 3:30PM. Disposition will be private. Lyons, Stephen D. Sr., 88, of Bloomingdale, passed away on November 14, 2020. Stephen was born in Nyack, NY and grew up in Emerson, NJ. Stephen graduated from Westwood High School in 1950 where he was a varsity football and track and field athlete. He graduated from Rutgers College in 1954 with a B.S. degree in History. While at college, he was a member of ROTC and Alpha Ki Roe. Stephen remained close with several of his fraternity brothers over the years and was particularly proud of his Rutgers education and often attended football games and alumni events. Following college, Stephen served as a U.S. Army First Lieutenant along the Korean Demilitarized Zone. Returning stateside, Stephen was first employed in Labor Relations by Otis Elevators. Stephen then went onto to work for Reaction Motors, which was involved in the national space program of the 1960s and he specifically recalled the office excitement of the first moon landing. Later, Stephen spent most of his career as a Personal Director at Frances Schervier Home and Hospital in the Bronx. In 1957, Stephen married Julieanne Bergholtz of Hillsdale, NJ and moved to Lodi, NJ. Stephen and his young family moved to Bloomingdale in 1962, where he was a member of the Board of Education and the Bloomingdale Planning Board for many years. Until recently, Stephen worked the polls every Election Day. Earlier, he was often involved with his children’s activities including Boy Scouts Troop 287 and youth sports. He attended many Butler High School sporting events of his children and continued to attend his grandchildren’s sporting events at various high schools and colleges. Besides residing in Bloomingdale, Stephen spent parts of his summers with his children and grandchildren at his ancestral farm in Ossipee, New Hampshire. Son of the late Walter L. Lyons, Sr. and Louise J. (Delano) Lyons and husband of the late Julieanne (Bergholtz) Lyons, he is survived by his children: Michael, John, Stephen Jr., Helen, and Kathleen and his grandchildren: Julia, Regina, Isabella, Sean, Daniel, Kerry, Charles, Shannon, Christina, and Patrick. Predeceased by his siblings: Louise, Ruth, Margaret and Walter Jr., Stephen is survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, December 4th from 2 PM to 4 PM at Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 AM, on Saturday December 5th at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Pompton Lakes. Interment will follow at Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes. Malewit, Lawrence C., Jr., passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 22, 2020 in West Milford, NJ. He was 83 years of age & was the son of Agnes & Lawrence Malewit, Sr. Larry was born in Queens, NY, graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in 1955 & then joined the USMC where he served from 1955 to 1963 attaining the rank of Corporal. He then began a career as a manager with the Continental Can Company & attended FDU attaining a degree in Business Administration, whereby he eventually retired in 1989. Larry was married to Theresa Franzino in 1960 & they moved to West Milford in 1962. Theresa then passed away unexpectedly in 1992. He leaves behind their four children: Lawrence III of Vernon, Michael of Colorado Springs, CO, Darlene of Ann Arbor, MI & Renee Riley of Vernon, NJ. He was the grandfather of Lawrence IV, Jacqueline, Mark, Jesse, Megan, Kendall, Sean, Alanna, Spencer & Krystle & great-grandfather to Sigurd, a brother Ronald of South Glens Falls, NY; nieces Olivia Vassallo of Nanuet, NY; and Joann Franzino of Garfield, NJ, his wife, Loody Tamboer-Malewit of 8 years & a step-son Gary Tamboer & granddaughters, Savannah & Cheyenne. Lawrence is preceded in death by his sister, Susan Horn of Nanuet, NY. In Larry’s younger years, he proudly attained the rank of Eagle Scout with Bronze & Silver Palms & Order of the Sparrow. Larry loved reading, hunting, target shooting, bowling, riding his Harley & was a member of the Bergen County HOG in Rochelle Park, NJ. Steele, Richard J., 64, of Pompton Lakes, on November 8, 2020. Born in Oak Brook, IL to the late Joseph F. and Florence (Weldon) Steele. Rick grew up in Tenafly, NJ and graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor’s degree. Rick celebrated 40 years in the commercial real estate banking industry, spending the last 12 years as a Vice President for M&T Bank. His proudest accomplishments were his three sons, Brian, Christopher, and, Jonathan. Rick was actively involved in all of their activities and spent many years coaching soccer and baseball for PLRSA and PLRLL. Rick was a dedicated community servant and served many years on various committees, including 10 years as a Pompton Lakes Councilman and as Council President. Rick later found a passion for healthy living and enjoyed going on daily walks. Most days he walked 6-8 miles listening to his favorite podcasts. Rick was a loyal, selfless, and devoted Dad, Husband, and Friend. He will be missed greatly by all that knew him. Survivors include his three sons, Brian, Christopher, and Jonathan. His ex-wife and best friend Renee. One brother, Daniel Steele and his wife Felicia, Three sisters, Susan Gavejian and her husband Paul, Linda Young and her husband Tom, and Barbara Emden and husband John. Also surviving is his Sister-in-law Dawn Chandler-Van Alstyne and her husband Eric, and many loving nieces and nephews. Van Splinter, Christopher Michael, 34, passed away November 13, 2020. He resided in his home with his family in Eastampton, N.J. He was born in Ridgewood and grew up in West Milford. He was an experienced professional auto body painter doing what he loved at Virgo Auto Body in Cherry Hill. Beloved son of Alan Van Splinter, stepmother Jane, and his mother Donna Schwaner. Loving fiance and soul mate, Anastasia Marino and their two young beautiful sons Cole Michael Van Splinter (2 years old) and Myles Steven Van Splinter (2 weeks old) whom he loved very dearly. Brother of Matthew Van Splinter, Andrew Schwaner, David & Michelle Affinito, P.J. Affinito and Sister Jordan Schwaner. He was also survived by a large extended family who will deeply cherish his memory. Christopher was a loving, hard working, family man that would do anything for his family and children. Wosyluk, Ryan Richard, 28, of West Milford, NJ passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 18, 2020. While born in Gainesville, Florida, West Milford was always home. He was employed by Scott Flammer Heating and Cooling. He is survived by his mother, Kathleen Mac Mahon, father, Robert Wosyluk, brothers Robby, and Dillon, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased most recently by his grandfather, Sean Mac Mahon last year. Of very special significance Ryan leaves behind his beloved fiancée, Angela Garcez who is expecting their baby girl in March. He shared a lifelong passion of modified dirt racing with his father at Orange County Speedway, was a loyal Green Bay Packers fan, and adored the family Golden Retrievers.
