Coyte, Gail Frances, 75, of West Milford, NJ, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2022. She was born in Paterson, NJ to George and Marjorie Dailey. She married Rory Coyte after meeting him in 1989. She graduated from Wayne High School, NJ. Gail enjoyed a lifelong career in banking, working at Lakeland State and Warwick Bank. Best known for her quick-witted humor, fierce determination, sweet demeanor and generous spirit. She loved spending time with her family and friends, traveling, camping, fishing, and her favorite hobby family documenter and photographer. Predeceased by her father, mother and brother, George. She is survived by her husband Rory Coyte, her stepdaughter Chris Ryerson, two sons Ed and Tim Faherty, and her five grandchildren: Tatum, Margaret, Linnea, Gavin and Connor Faherty.
Cuonzo, Frank J. on Friday, November 11th, 2022, Frank was called home at the age of 90. The world has lost a great husband and father. Frank was born in Brooklyn, NY. Growing up in Brooklyn helping his father Gaetano deliver blocks of ice for freezer boxes in the surrounding neighborhood. Loved going to see his beloved Brooklyn Dodgers play before they moved to Los Angeles. After high school Frank was enlisted in to the United States Air Force and served 4 years during the Korean war. After being honorably discharged, Frank went to a trade school to become a draftsman after which began a 28 year career working with American Cyanamid Company in Wayne, NJ. In 1971 Frank moved to Riverdale from Clifton, NJ where he resided for the remainder of his life with his wife, Gloria. Frank was always active in the community as a coach for his son’s athletic teams in baseball and basketball. An avid bowler and golfer. He continued this passion up until his late 80’s. Frank is survived by his two sons, Frank M. and Stephen. His daughters-in-law, Melissa and Jennifer. Along with his four grandsons, Kyle, Connor, Logan and Trevor. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Gloria Cuonzo. Decker, Gerald E. , 99, passed peacefully on Tuesday, November 08, 2022 in his Pompton Lakes home with his family by his side. Jerry was born in Riverdale, NJ to Myrtle and Edward Decker. He was predeceased by his brother Kenny and sister Shirley. He grew up in Pompton Lakes, attended Lenox School, and graduated from Pompton Lakes High School in the class of 1941. After high school, at 18 years of age, Jerry was drafted into the US Army as an infantryman and deployed to Europe where he proudly served our country in WWII. Following his most honorable discharge, Jerry ran his local electrical business, Jerryʼs Electrical Service for 50 years while residing in Pompton Lakes.In 1942 Jerry married the love of his life Beatrice Ashcroft (deceased) whom he was married to for 72 years. Together, they had 5 children: Jerry (Dee), Sharon (Mike) Hamer, Debbie (Rick) Erickson, Kim (Val) and Kurt (Lu). His proudest accomplishment was having 17 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren who visited regularly and shared many memories in his backyard. He was a very dedicated Yankees fan, but took most joy watching his grandchildren play on local sports teams. Constantly surrounded by love and support from family, Jerry was also blessed to have his best friends, Bob Toner and Mike Hartley, who visited daily. Though we are all saddened by the loss of this incredible man, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, we celebrate the 99 blessed years Jerry was given to share. He imprinted on all of our hearts and made the world a better place. Rest in peace Jerry, with Bea. A funeral mass will be celebrated in honor of Jerry at St. Maryʼs Parish in Pompton Lakes on Saturday, October 12th at 10am followed by a gathering at Portobellos Restaurant. DeGraaf Jr., Jacobus "Jack", 75, passed away November 16, 2022 at his home in Pines Lake, Wayne. Born in Paterson to the late Jacobus and Johanna (Quant) DeGraaf, he graduated from Memorial Grammar School in Totowa in 1962, and went on to graduate Passaic Valley High School in 1966. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1966, taking his basic training at Fort Lewis in the state of Washington. After completing basic training he was assigned to Fort Wachuca where he attended cook school. After completing cooks school he was sent to Plachu Vietnam, after six months in country he was sent to Phulloi and served with the 213th Aviation Chinook Division. Upon returning to the United States he volunteered to return to Vietnam for a six month deployment, assigned to Lai Ke with the 173rd Assault Helicopter Unit as a door gunner. Once again he returned to the United States, he once again volunteered to return to Vietnam and was assigned in Lai Ke with a Slick Huey helicopter unit as a door gunner. He flew many combat missions during his two additional tours in Vietnam. He obtained the rank of Specialist fourth class. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Year Medal, Air Medals and the Army Accommodation Medal for Meritorious Service and the Good Conduct Medal. He returned home and was separated from military service. Upon completion of his military service he started a career with the Broadway Bank. He met the love of his life Gail and in 1992 they were married. He and Gail have one daughter Sarah. Jack was an active member of the John Hand Tri-County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2906, Pompton Lakes, NJ, and was honorably selected as Grand Marshall in 2021. In addition to his wife Gail and daughter Sarah, Jack is survived by his sister Joann DeGraaf and and brother William DeGraaf. De Marco, Dennis, 81, of West Milford, NJ on Sunday, November 13, 2022. Beloved husband of Lynda (Davis) De Marco. Born in Paterson, NJ to the late Rocco and Hilda (Deritter) De Marco. A retired Paterson Police Sargent, Dennis was a member of PBA Local # 1 of Paterson, a member of the Honor Legion of the NJ State PBA, the NRA and a thirty year volunteer of Cedar Heights Cemetery in West Milford. Surviving are two sons, Dennis Jr. of West Milford and Robert of FL, two daughters, Debra Antonucci of Totowa, NJ and Samantha Forest of Wills Point, TX, one brother, Tim De Marco of Lynhurst, NJ, three sisters, Tony Matchetti of Prospect Park, NJ, Dolores DeLosa of Clifton, NJ and Valerie Spaglnola ot Totowa, NJ. Predeceased by a daughter, Denise De Marco and two brothers, Rocco and Ernest De Marco. Podmokly, Helen (Richter), 95, passed away November 13, 2022. Born in Cedar Grove, NJ she resided in Clifton for fifty five years. Helen worked at West Essex Regional High School as a food service worker. She enjoyed baking, spending time with her grandchildren, and taking family trips together. Also in her spare time she enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. Beloved mother of Richard Podmokly and his wife Denise of West Milford. Loving grandmother of Stephen Podmokly and his wife Hayes, Jessica Mahoney and her husband Tom, and Michael Podmokly, Great grandmother of Jamie Podmokly. Loving Aunt to her nieces and nephews. Stack, Gerald (Jerry) F., 87, of Pequannock, NJ passed away on November 7th at The Health Center of Bloomingdale, NJ from complications related to Alzheimer’s. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Emmett and Genevieve (Orszulak) Stack. In 1953 Jerry graduated from Niagara Falls HS and then attended The Art Institute of Pittsburgh and Niagara University. Following this, Jerry enlisted and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps until 1958. After the Marine Corps. he returned to the Falls where he worked on the construction of the Niagara Power Project with Uhl Hall and Rich until 1960 before accepting a position with Moore Business Forms. In 1966 Jerry accepted a promotion and moved his family to Pequannock, NJ where he managed sales for Moore’s largest Banking and Financial clients in New York City until his retirement in 1994. Jerry was a very talented artist and woodworking craftsman and throughout his lifetime produced some wonderful works for friends and family. For many years Jerry was also a dedicated Mason who rose to the level of Grand Master of Joppa Lodge No. 29 in Lincoln Park, New Jersey. Jerry had a lifelong love of the bagpipes and with a small group of enthusiasts, established the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association. In addition, Jerry ran the Delco Highland Games and Hunter Mountain Celtic Festival for many years. Jerry and his wife Kirstin had a great love for Soft Coated Wheaton Terriers and spent many years breeding and showing these lovely animals. He was predeceased by both of his parents as well his brother Bernard E. Stack of Youngstown, NY. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Kirstin (Hewitt) Stack. Children: James (Mary) Stack, Marybeth (John) Mayer, Margaret (James) Beahm and Brian (Ana) Stack. Grandchildren: Jamie Stack, Kristin Stack, Steven Mayer, Kevin (Rachel) Mayer, Nicholas Mayer, Sofia Stack, Aidin Stack and Matthew Stack and Great-grandfather to Cecilia Mayer. He is also survived by his brother Kevin (Rose) Stack and many nieces and nephews in the Youngstown/Lewistown area. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at the Niagara Falls Memorial Cemetery in Lewistown, NY.
Westervelt, Susan R., (Littman) 60, of Hewitt, passed away November 24, 2022. Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Ralph and Joan Littman. Sister of Steven Littman and wife Amy of Spring Valley, NY, David Littman of Texas, and Jon Littman of Hackensack, NJ. Beloved wife of Robert for 38 years and loving mother of Jared. Throughout Susan's life she was a dedicated dog rescue mother to Satin, DJ, Hallie and by far her kindred spirit and most recent rescue, Duke, whom she loved like a second child. For 14 years, Susan, was a food service manager for Maschio's Food Service at Stoneybrook Elementary School in Kinnelon NJ. Susan loved spending her summers on Greenwood Lake with all of the members of her community on the Beach at Lakeside Community Club, with a drink in her hand listening to Country and Hard Rock Music. She loved to cook for her family and friends often taking home 1st Prize at the Clubhouse Chilli Contest.
